Welcome to Southern Nevada Gem & Mineral Society, a nonprofit educational community service organization, sharing our love of the lapidary arts, rocks, and minerals.

Based in Las Vegas Nevada, serving the Southern Nevada area, and governed by a Board of Directors our club started in 1930 as the Prospector's Club and is one of the oldest recorded clubs of its kind in the United States.

The purpose of the club is to promote interest and education in the various earth sciences, mineralogy, gemology, and to foster the exchange of knowledge in the lapidary arts. We are a non-profit, community service organization.

We are members of American Federation of Mineralogical Societies and Rocky Mountain Federation of Mineralogical Societies.
Our meetings are held at the Eagles Lodge in Las Vegas Nevada on the first Monday of each month (except December) at 6 PM. If the first Monday is a holiday the meeting is on the second Monday. This occasionally changes, so check the Meetings page for more information. Visitors are welcomed at all our meetings.

We maintain a lapidary shop in Las Vegas where we hold all our classes and some events such as rock swaps.

SNGMS hosts an annual Show in Boulder City Nevada.
