SNGMS Lapidary Shop
Our lapidary shop is the heart of our organization.
Shop Schedule & Location
Location: 3111 S Valley View, Suite E-125.
SNGMS members may use the shop equipment and an hourly fee is charged.
We welcome visitors. Stop in and see what we have to offer. New Member Orientation classes are offered, including demonstrations on the use of rock saws, flat laps, a geode saw, and other equipment. Best practices for working safely and effectively will be reviewed. A supervisor is available whenever the shop is open to get members started on the equipment. After certification members are prepared to use the equipment without direct supervision.

NO SMOKING The leasing agent for the shop has notified us that smoking isn't allowed in the building or in any area that is near an entrance.

Shop Resources
Our equipment for cutting and polishing rocks includes slab, trim and geode saws, Cab King machines, flat laps, and doping equipment. There are several faceting machines available for faceting class instruction. Metal detectors are available for rental.
A library about all aspects of lapidary arts, rocks, minerals, fossils, and associated information is maintained.
There is always a supervisor to assist and teach the proper
use of the equipment when the shop is open.
Fellow rockhounds are often at the shop and are a friendly
and helpful group.
There is a small hourly fee for use of the equipment.
